Nancy graduated from Occidental College with a BS in Kinesiology. She is certified by the American Council on Exercise as a Personal Trainer. She enjoys helping people understand the importance of exercise in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Certified Pilates Instructor

Caroline has been teaching Pilates at all levels for 7 years. She was certified in Pilates from Long Beach Dance Conditioning in 2000. While not presently practicing physical therapy in an official capacity, Caroline received her physical therapy degree in her native land of Denmark (1996), and has been working in clinical practice since. With extensive knowledge of human biomechanics and considerable experience in physical therapy, Caroline is adept at meeting the various needs of her clients including both rehabilitation of physical injury/impairment and general optimization of movement patterns. As an informed physical therapist, Caroline deems it important that each client understands the particular biomechanics associated with his or her respective condition as well as the particular reasons for why it is important to alter certain movement patterns. Finally, Caroline is dedicated to encouraging her clients to meet their respective goals.

Apart from being a physical therapist (PT) and a certified Pilates instructor, Caroline is certified in the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® and GYROKINESIS®. Similar to yoga, GYROKINESIS® is a fluid combination of mobilizing, stretching, and strengthening movements that are constantly changing through the use of breath, making the exercises appear and feel more like a dance. Caroline’s extensive knowledge and background in physical therapy, GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® and GYROKINESIS® serve to inform and are likewise incorporated into her Pilates workouts.

Certified Pilates Instructor

Chris Payne is an actor and BASI Certified Pilates teacher. He taught
Pilates at California Institute of the Arts for two years, where he also
received his Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Acting. His background also
includes years studying ballet, tap, hip-hop, ballroom, latin and swing
dance. Chris has taught speech and dialects for actors, dance, and movement
in different cities throughout the US.

Cori has been with Sierra Fitness for over a year as a pilates instructor. She has taught dance for many years including a variety of fitness classes as well. Musical Theatre is her second love which she shares her time with when she is not teaching pilates.

 
Josie Roth

Josie has long participated in the physical arts with an emphasis on dance. She has studied many forms of dance including Modern/Contemporary, Flamenco, Japanese Butoh, Ballet, Samba and Jazz. She is a violist/performance artist and performs her original music locally at a variety of arts venues.

When Josie discovered Pilates it was immediately a perfect fit and she knew from the beginning that she wanted to teach it to others. After taking many classes she traveled to Majorca, Spain to participate in an intensive Pilates retreat with Sarah Rosenfield from London, UK. She was certified through internationally recognized master of the Pilates technique, Marie Jose Blom, at Long Beach Dance & Conditioning Studio and Movement Academy, completing the Advances in Pilates Technique Professional Teacher Training Program and the Core Intelligence program. She continues her Pilates education by attending continuing education seminars and attending Pilates conferences.

Kristen Tipping completed her teacher training program at the Pilates Sports Center in Encino. Her love for Pilates began when she started practicing Pilates to strengthen herself after an injury. Witnessing first hand how it changed her life and has helped countless others, Kristen has dedicated herself to continually deepen her understanding of the human body, alignment and physical activity that connects the body, mind and soul. Kristen’s mission is to help others enhance their health and vitality so they can stand tall and enjoy life to the fullest.
